Japanese people really keep themselves to themselves, and the few mothers and babies in the emergency ward all hide behind the curtains of their semi-private rooms. I'm sure Mami will leave the hospital without knowing the other mothers, or their babies, at all. It's kind of sad, but that's how it goes here. Registration shouldn't be a problem. I'll just let my wife go to the city hall and add him to the family register. If I went, I'd have to jump through hoops! Given the circumstances of my wife's pregnancy, and that she gave birth in the emergency ward, I was actually surprised the doctor gave me permission to go in... but Mami's word was the one that mattered.
