When I was a kid, I had the best attic in the whole world. I used to share a room with my brother and to get into the attic, all we had to do was open the closet and climb up the ladder. My dad had built a huge toy room up in the loft, with a massive toy train setup , two Scaletrix tracks (race car tracks), and all the Star Wars figures you could imagine!

CarGuyGarage.com is asking bloggers what they would store in their attic if they had an attic lift? Well, now that I live in Japan, I don’t actually have an attic, but if I did, I’d use it to carry boxes of toys upstairs so I can set up a toy room for my son, like my dad did for me and my brother.

Of course, that would have to wait until I get bored of sitting on the lift myself, calling out 窶廝eam me up, Scotty!窶 and pressing the button.

I窶囘 never actually heard or seen an attic lift before seeing this video, but isn窶冲 it great?

That has got to be the most organized garage and attic I’ve ever seen ….

That said, I could see goin’ a little crazy with this kind of thing. I love building models, and one of the things I’m looking forward to getting back into (when I have the space and the money) is large scale models, and even Lego modelling. Having seven or eight of these up in the ceiling would be great as they could each be used to hold certain parts or tools. I’d never need to keep everything in the open, and cleanup would be a snap :P

These would really take off in Japan (if they haven’t already). You could “lift” your entire living room up to the ceiling, leaving space below for the family’s futons at night.

Yeah, I think I saw a show once from Japan where a guy had a one bedroom apartment and then had some lift that transformed it in to a sleeping area..
