Notice: Moving LongCountdown.com
I’ve started to move this blog across to my new web host. It can take up to 72 hours to “propagate” around the internet, so for the time being I’ve closed the comment form. In the meantime, I’ll let you admire my new ultra-skinny blog template!

Welcome back to the internet, Nick. It was pretty quiet without JapanSoc and LongCountdown. I hope your new host can live up to your expectations better than the last
Thanks Jason, there were a few technical difficulties, but I think they’re all ironed out now.
I actually followed up on the three web hosts you wrote about when you were considering changing, and I picked Bluehost.com. So far, I’m pretty happy. My pages seem faster and I’m cutting my costs in half!
Nice. I’m glad my posts actually provide value once in a while
I’ve noticed that JapanSoc is a bit faster when navigating and whatnot, so I’m looking forward to seeing some of the improvements as time goes on. One of the things that used to really bug me about JapanSoc was the amount of time that it took for the site to refresh after submitting an article
Did you remember to rebuild your indexes after migrating the databases?
Hahaha… nope. That goes a bit beyond my knowledge of the import/export buttons. I did click the check/repair/optimize buttons out of curiosity, but that’s all. Let me know if it’s slow next time you submit something and then I’ll bribe you into fixing it for me
Will do.
