Not if that popular political movement grows into mass rejection of big government, media propaganda, military service, etc.

Not to sound too cynical (even though I'm way too cynical), but unless the economic significance of oil is dramatically decreased, there'll be a lot of killing in the name of ________ in the Middle East and throughout the world for generations to come. And, no idealistic agenda or popular political movement will get in the way of that.

Well, they aren't a political party, and that's the difference. The trick is to fund and support local politicians who support the campaign's message. This in turn will lead to more state governors from third parties, including the Green Party and Libertarians, and ultimately provide a large body of opposition in Congress.

Sadly, they probably won't be anymore effective than the Green Party (my personal favorite) or the Libertarians. The Demplicans and Republocrats pretty much have a lock on their Plutocracy. I'm with you on World Peace. I wish the Dalia Lama could run for president. It would great to have someone in power who's only objective is to help people. Anyway, there's my wishy washy, tree hugging, flower power, 2 cents on the topic.
